In 1975, the St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church was organized and founded by Dr. Robert Lacy. Praising God, Dr. Lacy’s ministry continued to grow, we were now able to relocate to 3916 Foothill Blvd., Oakland, CA on Easter Sunday, April 5, 1977.  September 1978, Dr. Lacy organized the St. Andrew MBC Private School. During her infancy, St. Andrew was blessed by God with a radio “Broadcast Ministry”  - PRAISE THE LORD!!.  Our voices were heard each Sunday evening throughout the Bay area on radio stations, KEST and KDIA on the AM dial, for 17 years.

Dr. Lacy’s ministry still continued to broaden it’s work in calling  men, women, boys, and girls to Jesus Christ.  On Sunday, April 10, 1988, we moved into the new church location in Clearlake at 16125 Orchard Street, Lower Lake, CA.  Dr. Robert Lacy has filled the hearts of his members, radio listeners and television viewers with anointed ministry and God’s powerful words in several of  his outstanding series of sermons:   147 episodes on “The Popularity of Jesus” and 126 episodes on “There are No Shortcuts on The Way to Maturity”,  101 episodes on “Spiritual Growth”, and new his newest episodes on “One Dip”.

God spoke and His Holy Spirit worked with Pastor Lacy with his choir members to inspire their hearts to work on one accord to record their first # 1 Album. As a faithful leader, Dr. Lacy worked tirelessly, diligently, and prayerfully to fulfill God’s will.  On Sunday, June 4, 1989, the Lord saw fit to use us to his glory that his name would be glorified, and lifted up throughout the Bay area.  Dr. Lacy’s heart was stirred to preach a powerful, soul-stirring message telling a lost world that “GOD CALLS FOR REPENTANCE.”.

In October 2003,  the SAMBCPS broadened it’s educational aspects to include the St. Andrew Theological and Academic University, Adult Educational Vocational Training and Job Placement Program.  Additionally, to clothes drives, community events, St. Andrew MBC began a free brown-bag & spiritual counseling ministry which began in 2002.

St. Andrew appreciates the surrounding communities that we are able to serve with our Spirit-Filled Television Program, “The St. Andrew Prayer Hour”, we televise in the Bay Area on Comcast channel 26, Sunday’s at 12:30 pm. We also televise on channel 78 on Sunday and Wednesday nights at 8:00 pm and Fridays at 10:00 am in the Bay Area.
