Initiatives Become Priorities. His early education began in a church house called Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi.He started kindergarten at 4.9 in 1937, graduated Bowman High School in May 1948.The fall of the same year he entered Alcorn State University. His tenure as a student gained the credibility deserving of a Baccalaureate of Science degree in Education. His academic promotions were accelerated through his personal intellect and the steering of a popular business man who owned portions of the city industry of Vicksburg, Mississippi.
After traveling to California in the dawn of 1951, he decided to advance academically by enrolling in evening courses at Merritt College.During the union strike of 1951, time allowed a full course load of academic studies to be completed at two colleges in Oakland, Laney and Merritt.He then transferred to San Francisco State University carrying a full load of morning classes; he formed and organized his own maintenance company.This company grew to about a 100-man crew operating in California, and reaching as far as Phoenix, Arizona. His organization consisted of a hierarchy of managers, foremen, and supervisors which allowed him to study in the day and operate the business at night.His educational pursuit supported his business success.
His educational background includes: Golden Gate Seminary, University of California Berkeley, and Bay Cities Bible Institute.The compilation of endless study hours and due diligence, accumulated a great number (or shall we say a multitude) of degrees, concluding with a Doctorate of Divinity with a major in Theology.
Now we see him humbly submitted to the call of the Gospel as he pilgrims through California with the message “God Calls for Repentance” 2 Chronicles 7:14. His mission, motto, and belief’s are that every soul can be saved, every life can be changed, and every mind can be trained.The instruction the world receives from him is found in James 1:22 “But, be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” He has been a member of the Lord’s church since July 1944. He has served in several auxiliaries beginning with the usher board, Sunday School, Baptist Training Union (BTU), treasurer, even as an ordained deacon for 31 years.
His surrender to the call of God to serve as prophet, preacher, and servant has been a total dedication involving evangelizing the world. Spiritually inspired, prayerfully motivated, and divinely guided he strategically organized the St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church, Private School Parent Coop Prayer Clinic, Theological and Academic University, an elongated vision that has been developing for more than 63 years.As his administration continues, he utters words of encouragement to fellow sojourners and all believers,” Let us walk together children and don’t you be weary, there is a great camp meeting in the promise land.”
The ministry of the St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church is well known for producing educated administrators of church work including: Preachers, Sunday school teachers, missionaries, evangelists, laymen and women.St. Andrew reaches out to the nation in ministries that include: baptizing, educating, marriage counseling, anger management, community and economic development, all under the auspices of the Holy Spirit.The St. Andrew Private School proudly educates grades K – 12 with a twelfth grade graduate each year. And many extra curricula activities as well as support services including: technology and transportation, etc. The St. Andrew Theological and Academic University welcomes the applications of undergraduates and post graduates. Adult education and vocational training are programs also offered.
